A person who takes everything literally to that extent would have to be mentally ill, and I was always taught not to laugh at people who are mentally ill.

However, if each of these comics included a disclaimer specifically stating that "Takes Everything Literally Guy" is not mentally ill, but is merely extremely stupid, I would feel more free to laugh at them.
