How to deal with a troll: either accept his opinion as genuine, or accept it as motivated. A troll's motivated opinion is usually to satisfy his own needs with no regard for the group - it's selfish.
Common selfish troll motives include: inferiority complex, projection of anger, and emotional neediness. Remedy? Accept the troll as such, thus allowing you to stop taking him even remotely seriously.
