Thank you, DexX. Our guest has been DexX, an Australian guy visiting Maryland. It's like he can see into my soul. I always wanted to be a radio announcer. At the same time, I'm worried that my speech seems mannered. And now this:

By the way, I just got back from my 2nd interview at this customer service company, at which I charmed the ever-lovin' crap out of the interviewer. I am once again employed. Wheeee! I start my 4-week (!!!) paid training course on Monday.

James arrived with a hurricane that put the lights out for 4 days. We dropped him off at Union Station on the fourth day and hurried back to the house to pack our bags for a hastily-booked hotel because we couldn't take the blackout anymore. And? And? And then the lights came back on.

Then he made up for it by playing Beatles songs on the piano for hours and singing with me to help me out of the blue funk I was in. He's very talented.

Oh, and DexX, I just got out of the shower. Mind you'ns I have an adjustable shower head, straight out of the wall (no hose). DexX, being about a foot taller than me, adjusts the damn thing so that it's higher and straight out. Then he kindly leaves it that way. I should have learned the first time, but nooooooo... I just dumped cold water on myself again.

I'm 'bout to leave in a few to pick the big hairy Australian up from the station. I've had 3 hours of sleep out of the past 42. I stayed up to fix my sleep schedule for the interview, and then because the Fed-ex delivery didn't come until late in the day, and then I was too wired on diet cokes to do anything about it. I sure do hope I don't pick the wrong Australian up at the station in some kind of sleep deprivation induced craze. I'm sure the Omaha station will be teeming with unclaimed Australians.

I am currently staying with LadyJ and her fella in Omaha. Tonight we spent a couple of hours sings away at a gay and lesbian karaoke bar - less bizarre and more fun than you would guess.

I have now met: wirthling (and wirthette); kaufman (and kaufwoman); evil_d and eponine; boorite (and boorette); pita (plus mini-pita, grannypita and grampypita); bunnerabb (and bunner's friend Gavin from York in the UK - we formed a coalition of the willing and bombed Madagascar); and now ladyjdotnet (and lordmdotnet).

I am having so much fun it oughtta be illegal.

Looking forward to meeting gabebillings in Portland while I'm there for the movie premiere, then lara7 and spankling in Seattle. I still have a vain hope of catching up with DragonXero briefly in sunny Chico, California, but I don't think it'll happen. *sigh*

Anyone in Chicagoland want to have lunch while I'm doing a train changeover? :D
