Oh, hell no, nothing that good. My "desk" was a 12-ch DOD mixer, and I had a couple of Peavey SP-2s and a CS-800 plus a couple other things (mixing amp, compressor, EQ, monitors, snake, mics and all that crap). El cheapo. I actually liked the CS because of the built-in crossover and limiter plus the fact that I couldn't kill it (I tried). It was a good rig for small gigs and home audio use (if you live on a 100-acre farm).

I want to be a Colossal Geek, but I can't think of anytning truely geeky.

I have friends visit regularly to watch Dr Who, I love the Goodies, I am female and play RPGs as well as heaps of computer games.

I loved Metal Mickey when it was on the ABC (Australia), I generally only read Fantasy and Science Fiction.

I am a big They Might Be Giants fan, which is a rarity in Australia.

I'm still not a Colossal Geek :(

She is also married to me.

Is "terrible taste in men" considered to be a sign of geekiness? :)

I am a geek, with a beutiful, smart, funny, adorable, but undeniably geeky wife. My wife plays computer games (we have grudge-filled UT battles with language flying around the room that you would not believe) and roleplaying games (she will be DMing her first campaign early in the new year). I stay up half the night on the internet, and she complains only if I wake her up coming to bed.

I just re-read this entire Goddamned thread. All of it. I realise now how little I have to offer by way of geekdom here. I guess I really am the token cranky old guy, but I'm not too bothered about that.

Back to geekdom: I am building a Linux box, (finally) next month. I've heard a lot of different releases being flogged by different Linux camps, and I think I'm going to use SlackWare.

Any suggestions?
